proTOM1
i got slagged off on for a post I made where i said I only shot what I could manage,to get home and eat,i was informed that if the bloke critising me did that he'd expect to lose his permission. So which is ?kill as many as you can,or as many as you can manage? If you did shoot that many birds you did a good pest control service,if you dumped them, you should have sold them as it would be worth the effort,or stopped when you couldn't manage the amount, they seem like they would have been there for another day. there is no obligation to sell the birds, but can anyone tell me if dumping the bodies in the field is eco safe,it could bring rats and foxes to the farmers land,i doubt the farmer would thank you for that.,I've left a few that looked like they went off,or I'd "pillow cased" them, but no more than 5.If it was me ,and I wouldn't dump that many. I'd be ashamed if I dumped them and I certainly wouldn't brag about it,can I see a picture of all the birds?that many surely U'd have a picture? For me i think it was not that he could not mangage them it was he was to lazy too get them off . I have shot quite a few 200 plus bags and had to do a good few trips of over 500+ yards or more to get them to my truck yes it about killed me but i remove what i shoot
perazzi82
im sorry but alot of shooters class pigeons as vermin, compared to the almighty pheasant anyway. and you would be surprised at how many shooters on here, if they were honest will tell you they end up dumping a huge majority of the pigeons they shoot. oh yes they come on here and tell you they had a great day and paint a great picture masking the grim reality of the rotting carcases in the hedge. i didnt think many would have a problem with my actions to be honest, im controlling a pest, as we are told so often in every shooting magazine you lift
weejase
So what would everyone do If they shot 300+ crows If I shoot crows they do indeed go Into the nearest hedge This Is why I prefer to go out on the crows rather than pigeons I can`t be ***** with all the breasting and phoning about to see If anyone wants them
yickdaz
can;t weigh up whether you sent that post on purpose to cause a debate and arguement with a lot of members.. or you are just a complete and utter moron with no respect for what you shoot;thats if you actually shot the bag in the first place but if it did happen; then as motty said you don;t deserve a shotgun license or even a spot on this forum. and to answer your other accusation that we all dump pigeons well i tell you buddy i took 260 pigeons in to the game dealers on monday and a 60 mile round trip the only birds that will rot in the ditch is a few birds that have fallen in there and to deep to get them out with or without a dog. ste12b
Hi all. Just so we don't get in to trouble, The general licence requires "Persons acting under this licence should have regard...to good practice and any legislation affecting the disposal of the carcase(s) of any bird killed in accordance with this licence". For disposal see http://www.netregs.gov.uk/netregs/businesses/92637.aspx.
