Gordon R
My wife and I have just been visiting the graves of some relatives. Some are marble and easily cleaned. However, one is stone which has become dirty over the years. We have tried a scrubbing brush, but nothing more abrasive. We would like to restore it to something like original, but worry that anything strong substance will bring off the coloured lettering. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. al4x
screwfix do a path and patio cleaner that works fantastically on stone paving but I'd try it on a small area first just to check its suitability.

Another flat piece of wet sandstone rubbed on it will clean it up but be careful with the writing.
