Slug
Can anyone tell me a couple of things please. Sound Moderators for .22RF, there seems to be a vast choice and vast price difference, I realise these are only truly effective with subs which I have read is <1100 FPS ?. Want to try to lose as much of the report I can Mines threaded for 0.5x28 tpi Also is there a way of quickly disabling a Ruger bearing in mind I don't want to remove the AR kit, a trigger lock perhaps ? Thanks for looking ATB S
Katash
Also is there a way of quickly disabling a Ruger bearing in mind I don't want to remove the AR kit, a trigger lock perhaps ? You can get semi auto locks that are basically a lockable wire loop that goes through the ejection port and out the mag well Edited October 16, 2010 by Katash
Dekers
There is little to choose between mods on a sub sonic .22lr (or HV for that matter), a SAK or Scirroco are as good as any, don't waste your money on £125 of Wildcat Whisper! Ruger owners be along soon I guess to answer the rest!
Glensman
Have a SAK on my Ruger. Grand job. As far as locks, ruger make a very nice one like the one pictured above...

Dekers
Is that all ! Crikey was thinking fair bit. Whats your opinion on the contents of this article ? http://www.shootingtimes.co.uk/guns/121761...2_rimfires.html These articles can be a useful guide, but remember they are on a certain day by a certain reviewer on a certain rifle with a certain ammo, etc etc etc...and don't forget the commercial aspect...like ....who were they carrying advertisements for that day?? I have owned/used a lot of mods on my assortment of rimfires, Hogg, Sirocco, SAK, Sako, Wildcat Cub, DM80, Parker Hale...one or two more I think as well, also tried a couple of Centrefire mods on the rimfire to. The DM80 was probably the best I have used (just) from a sound moderation point of view, but it was also the biggest and heaviest! I have one Sirocco and the rest are SAK now, my lads are SAK, and many people I know use SAK. When my Sirocco dies (I'm on a replacement already) it will be SAK on everything, even on my HMR and WMR. I have recently had a replacement for my Sirocco SM11 due to baffle issues, this has been replaced with a Sirocco SM1116, this has stainless baffles rather that plastic in the SM11 and it weights a little more, sound reduction wise it is no different to my ear, but it may well last a bit longer! What is good or bad comes down to your ear, land and pocket. ATB! Edit I think you will find the Sirocco cost around £50.
