Single feeding a .17HMR

Guess who forget to take his magazine along today! :yes:

If this happens again, is it OK to push .17HMR rounds into the breech and then close the bolt over? It is a CZ 452 if that makes a difference.

There was nothing much about, so I really didn't feel too bad, plus I got another bag of sloes. I treated it as a chance for a recce so I saw more of the land than I would have otherwise.

As above, it's fine.

It only really matters when it's centrefire rounds. The bolt doesn't catch around the round as easily, or not at all in the case of my 22-250. Meaning a whole lot of effort goes into getting a round which is really hard to remove out of the breech.

yeah it's fiddly but there's no safety issue - i've forgotten my mag before.

:yes::lol:

I forgot mine, for the one and only time, just a couple of months back when I went out with Mr L, hand fed, yes it's fiddly but I was getting the hang of it as time went on.....mags much better just the same! :lol:

Blimey you guys must have more patience or more nimble fingers that I have - after a dozen or so failed attempts one night I gave up trying to hand feed my CZ and concluded that in daylight and a bit of luck it might be possible. I'll have to put a bit more effort in next time :yes:
