djgeoff
i was just wondering after taking down a driven pigeon at the weekend, it was was coming in that fast and when i nailed it i thought ooh poo! i better move as it came over my hide and i moved to my left and i felt the air against side of my face and it hit the ground within feet of me. i though to myself can these things do some damaged if they get their own back on ya and hit you. they must be traveling 30 40mph with wind up its rear.......... that could hurt has any one esle had instances of this or simlar? mate i go shooting with said he had heard of a chap shooting a bird ( type not sure now) and it came down and hit another shooters gun that was leaning against a post and it broke the stock. could this happen or is it a porky do u think? either way i was not gonna stand in the way of the pigeon i brought down to find out

webber
Never been hit by a pigeon, but been too close for comfort a couple of times, and once dropped a Pheasant from a good height right at Lancs Lads feet. webber
Breastman
At a game shoot last year i shoot a partridge that was really shifting and it hit the next gun on the leg, he had a canny bruise by the end of the day and they're fairly small, defo wouldn't want to get hit by a pheasant! Dempy
great thats just what i wanted to know.......... DUCK then !thanks There is a bit of a clue there, "back of the neck", I didn't see it coming, so it was a bit hard to duck! But I would imagine it could snap the stock on a gun, it nearly knocked me out and the chap who shot it said it was not travelling fast, it was just coming in to roost in the tree behind me and fell about 20-30 feet. Heres me thinking us shooters sometimes need eyes in the back of our ends
