BASC Permit Scheme?

I'd quite like to have a go at Wildfowling, but not sure about commitment to a local club. Ive not ruled it out, and am looking into it / appreciate the advantages etc, just not sure if I'd get the chance more than half a dozen times a season.

I notice that BASC do a Wildfowling permit scheme, but I'm not sure exactly how it works or if any areas around Dorset / Hants are applicable to it?

Can anyone help or explain how it works and my options?

You can log onto the BASC site and under wildfowling you should find info on the permit book.

I know the Devon wildfowlers and also where i am the Gloucestershire wildfowlers sale Taster flight days, just do a search on google and this should give you the info you are after....

Hope this helps

If you take my advice definitely look into having a go but go with someone who has some experience of where you intend to go.

I went for my second time yesterday and think its great, and have just put a post up about it on another site. I have joined a club and have a fantastic mentor who has been wildfowling 40 years. There is more to it than you think :hmm:

Let us know how you get on

edited to say it cost me £110 I think it was to join a wildfowling club and £56 of that was BASC which I claimed back as I am already a member of another club.

Do you know I have been hanging my nose over going wildfowling for about 2 to 3 years and just wished that I had done it sooner, 10 years ago would have been about right.

With the article in the BASC magazine I have just read there is no excuse not to try it especially if you get a guide as well.

My advice is if you have never tried it GIVE IT A GO
