kyska
I'm buying a new pair....any ideas or advice on these two I've narrowed my choice to? Muckboot Tay sport cold weather or the Seeland Estate 5mm neoprene.
WGD
I've got the Seeland boots, they are excellent with a better sole (Vibram) than the Muck Boot. Possibly harder wearing too being full length rubber, but I've not had Muck Boots so can't say for sure.

WGD
Yes, the 5mm neoprene is more than up to the job. I have had Hunters in the past with 3mm Neoprene and I think Le Chams are also 3mm, the difference with the 5mm is night and day both from a comfort and warmth point of view. al4x
where the muck boots loose it for me is if you have many brambles as they don't last. As for being warm enough what i find is the issue with neoprene boots is making your feet sweat. If they do then you have damp feet and they then get cold, better option is a couple of pairs of socks or better quality socks rather than relying on the boots
Dunkield
Must be global warming or something, but 'which welly' season seems to get earlier every year
steve_b_wales
Apart from a good pair of boots, socks also play an important part. I've just bought a pair of Heatholders from sockshop.co.uk. They cost £6 a pair and there is a charge of £1.95 for delivery (any amount) First impressions of these socks are very good, and I can't wait to try them on a cold day/night. Couldn't agree more on this, I first got a pair last winter, they were bought for me by my other half's nan, who didn't want me getting cold feet out there in them fields  Bless her! My first thought was "oh my god what are these" however, they are bloody brilliant. I found a stall at the Burghley Horse Trials who had them for £5.00 a pair and promptly bought another two pairs. Really warm (and believe me I hate being cold) and so far seem hard wearing too, look and feel like new again after a spin in the washing machine.
