Cookiemonsterandmerlin.
looks like the union has cancelled the strike. And its all because of the PW debate they have seen sense and are planning to join us in the private sector. Cheers OTH
Billy.
looks like the union has cancelled the strike. That's the end of this thread then! I cannot believe this survived this long. I'd have bet on it being closed before the issue was resolved.
Cookiemonsterandmerlin.
That's the end of this thread then! Might be the end of the thread but it sure will not be the end of the PW clan bashing public sector workers . I cannot believe this survived this long. I'd have bet on it being closed before the issue was resolved. Yes agree but its been a well behaved and polite IMO. Cheers OTH
reddan
I too am surprised that it remained open. I think it was broadly polite. Dan Edited November 4, 2010 by reddan
Heilan Coo
Whilst that should never have happened, its an isolated incident, how many people are saved everyday? i should have known it would have been a NEGATIVE,and not a positive post, that seems to be the trend on PW lately BB or you just adding more fuel to the fire? I wasn't aware that I was obliged to post a POSITIVE reply. I only linked that report as it was in the paper, on radio/tv news reports that day and happened to be in an area local to me. And though I commend the service they(Fire,Ambulance,Police, etc) provide, I just wanted to point out that not everything is rose tinted. That was all Would adding more fuel to the fire have been appropriate? Probably not eh
al4x
I am sure there are people queuing up to get into the fire service and ready to risk all.... and who will do so on a 12 hour shift pattern and a new contract. the ones I know that have gone in didn't go in intending to risk all, they knew it was a winner with the ladies and what other job gives you as much free time other than teaching

Would you want an appliance loaded with "fresh fish" turning up to your burning house? All the training and no experience. Not for me thanks!
