Norrie
Hiya, As per title...I've been sat in the house, the last few weeks not able to get out shooting due to work...and have been buying up loads of deeks...got around 80 of the things now, 30 shells, and dozen after dozens of Full Body ones.. Now, how many do I really need?, the room they take up is unbelievable.... I've also bought Ducks, Hawks, Owls, Crows, and Maggies, how many of each of them do I need ??.... Depending on replies, there might well be loads getting sold on here soon...
Lez325
Try silosocks Norrie- they fold flat and weigh nothing really- UK shotware house does them at a reasonable price I usually put out around a dozen in a horshoe pattern- seem to work for me Les
steve_b_wales
You don't need too many. It depends on the bird's on the day. When crow shooting, I always use my 18 decoys, and also add dead birds to the pattern. This allows other crows/jackdaw's to gain more confidence (in my opinion) to land. I use two magpie decoys, when crow shooting, again, to give the crows extra confidence to land. Not too sure if they make a difference, but they work for me. Pigeons, I place about a dozen decoys out in a pattern, and then add dead birds as, and when I shoot them. Steve.

Cranfield
I take about 50 pigeon decoys with me in the truck and use as many as I feel is necessary. Normally starting with 15-20. I moved away from full bodied decoys quite a few years ago and now only have shells. They work just as well IMO, weigh almost nothing and take up a lot less room in the bags than full bodied. dolphin
dont shoot a lot of pigeon so cant help there but i might start with 30 crow deeks depending on the numbers at the time then add all dead birds to this just leave them somewhere to land some people say swap plastic for dead birds but like steve b says the bigger the pattern the more confident they become on some of my permissions its not unusual to see 500 to 1000 feeding at a time if i had a decent camera i would show you atb dolphin

BADFEET
if I could only take limited kit, I would be more than happy with a couple of bouncers (with real birds) and 4 shells.......then just add shot birds as they come.
