COACH
Smack LOTS of rust eating underseal on it and will be fine. Nothing wrong with them but rust and lots of it in time. Edited November 6, 2010 by COACH

paul99
Any modifications that lads think i should make ? Only a set of good knobbly tyres if you plan on doing any serious offroad driving amazing what a difference they make. I jumped in a friends farm runaround disco running on ATs last weekend to help out with a few farm jobs which I often do and thought no more of it until the bloody thing run away on me on a steep bank - it would have been a walk in the park for our the fourtrak + MTs but clearly wasn't for the discovery luckily all ended well but it left me shaking for a while it's always MTs for me from now on despite the cost! al4x
Yep,buy a set of general grabbers, then put a frontera on them ,sorry only joking ,nice truck why would you want to do that in comparison fronteras are really poo. As said your biggest enemy is rust, but as it has a separate chasis it takes a lot of it before they start failing MOT's so plaster it with underseal. Most bits and service kits are best from Milner off road and they have a lot of the parts that are hard to get elsewhere. Engines are pretty bullet proof, not the most economical but not the worst, put a set of general grabbers on it and you'll be fine

Engines are pretty bullet proof, not the most economical but not the worst, put a set of general grabbers on it and you'll be fine I've heard the separate chassis / rotten sills argument not being an MOT failure a few times but if the seatbelt anchor points are within 30cms of the rust on the sill they'll fail it - otherwise, you are right, outside of that 30cm area and rust isn't a problem and they shouldn't fail it. al4x
fourtraks tend to go at the rear of the sill and the boot floor so usually you are ok for a fair while. Obviously be better if they didn't rust but if so they would have been far more popular
