McF
Hi Has anyone got experience of using a ND3 laser lite. Are they value for money, can you really pick out targets out to 250yds and how do they compare to night vision Thanks in advance for any replys. steve_b_wales
I've seen advert's quoting laser sights as night vision. They can't be night vision, as this uses Infra Red, which we, or animals cannot see. I would think that shining a very bright beam at a fox or a rabbit could possibly spook it, especially if it's already lamp shy. I use a Cobra Merlin NV with day scope adaptor. This is an excellent bit of kit in my opinion. When I use it with added IR 'light' I can cleary identify quarry at 250 yards + Steve. Beardo
I picked one up cheap in the states last week, couldn't resist. Will post report once I've field tested. Have tried at home attached to spare scope and have to say I'm impressed so far

wacker
I had one on trial, IMHO, i don't think they are worth the money. Yes you can see the eyes, but i found it hard to pick out the bodies. Some were spooked by it. I think i'll stick with my nv monocular for spotting and flick the lamp on for when i take the shot. Paid £199 for it - worth the money. You can see rabbits and foxes at 100yds with the on board ir illuminator. Plus, if there's nothing there, you Haven't disturbed the field. McF
Hm, can that be the smell of cash burning a hole in the McF pocket? webber You know what its like Webber, wifey keeps asking what do I want for christmas. So Im just putting the feelers out to find out what these ND3s before I opt for NV
Beardo
I don't think you should really compare the two, I see them as being in the middle ground between lamps and nv. Using all my shooting credits on driven at the mo so difficult to get out lamping
