I borrowed an AATX 200 for a while and I got to know it quiet well.

It's main downside is that it weights quiet a bit, but that really helps keep the recoil to a minimum.

accuracy wise, I'd consider it excellent compaired to other springers, and on par with most cheaper PCP's.

pro sport is pretty much the same as the tx200 only it has the nice descreet under lever cocking arm and it comes with a bull barrel / shrouded barrel which your tx may not have depending on what model it is. I could be wrong on the last bit though someone will correct me if i'm wrong.

Pro sport = the nicest air rifle made (imo)

Both great guns and both very accurate.

What model of TX do you have?

it won't have the shrouded barrel then i don't think or the anti bear trap ratchet device (no notches cut into the sliding breach) which in some aspects is a good thing as the ones with can be noisy and i have read reviews where people have said it annoys them when in the field.

I have a mk1 tx200 and it cocks really smoothly with a little click at the end to let you know its cocked, great piece of kit. If your thinking of trading them in don't let them go cheap they are quality air guns. I'm not sure if chroming will effect the value but £175 - £200 would be my guess for one in fair condition and the pro sport £275 - £300 or there abouts, that would be my guess. But get some pics up for us.

If they were mine i'd keep them absoluetly nothing wrong with either in fact they probably come amongst the top 5 spring powered air rifles made. Plus there is more of a challenge learning to shoot a .22 as it has a more curved trajectory where as the .177 is flatter (flies more direct)

What ever you decide good luck

The pro sport you have is the model before the current one i believe as the current one comes with fish scale checkering on the grips. The TX is nice, but i can't make my mind up if its mk1 or mk2 the ratchet on the anti bear trap would make me think mk2 but the stock a mk1 with only the pistol grip checkered. And another thing it looks like it has a shrouded barrel. So i think i will say its a mk2.

The bare metal does look quite nice, but personally not for me (would reflect light like a mirror) as i only use mine in the field however as i said it is quite nice and you would definately be different from the rest when target shooting. It wouldn't be hard to sort for the field if you wanted too, you could re-blue it or cover it up with camo tape.

If you decide to hold onto them and are seriously considering using them for target work, get them serviced. Or sell one and put the money towards the servicing and any extra's you fancy. If i had to get rid of one it'd be the tx200 but thats only because i think the pro sport is pure airgun porn.

As i said before both are great and offer superb accuracy given the fixed barrel, i was told by my rfd when buying that the tx would outshoot me. And believe me the accuracy ability of the tx far surpasses that of me.

But here is a recent group i shot from 30yds stood up leaning on a post, 5 shots and the yellow circle is the size of a 2p. I just cut round a 2p with a stanley knife. using .22 crosman premiers.

And before anyone says about the sixth shot at the very edge of the wood, it was my younger brother aiming at a target some 5 inches below. Trying differing techniques.

you've got a couple of great AA springers there, have you thought of trying one or other out in the .22 or recoiling class?

I had a tx200 (tuned by Roger Moy) for a stretch and it was pellet on pellet out to very good ranges. A touch heavy, but heavier guns are easier to keep steady on aim, and I bet the .22 versions go off very sweetly indeed!

TBH - I'm a tad envious :yp:
