Breastman
Good man for posting this. ACC Whiting from ACPO was excellent, very balanced responses based on fact and he cut through all of the panels bull$h!t questions especially that McCabe tool Just finished watching it all, Vaz seems almost obsessed on pinning violence with firearms on video games, where is this coming from?? When Ryan went beserk the only video games out were Pong and Space Invaders, Hamilton was too busy fiddling kids and taking CSP officers on diving/fishing trips for gaming and i can't imagine Bird was much of a COD fan Mark Edited November 16, 2010 by Breastman

masterzone2
Sadly got through part of it and fell asleep just had my other half awake me with a cuppa LOL Any way I don't remember seeing Mrs Gill "I am so up my own ****" Marshal "If you don't agree with me you are a lesser life for and that goes for god as well" Andrews talking ****. However I do remember a load of Muppets talking **** about well ****. In 25 years we have had 3 Nutters go mad with licensed shooting sports equipment and one of them (Hamilton) was doing under the left leg hopping whilst touching little boys hand shakes to have his shooting sports equipment without valid reason so discount that and we have 2 THATS 2 in 20 years god the yanks have 2 a minute. From what I remember watching didn't hear anything on banning anything (but remember I fell asleep) If that was mentioned please tell me where so I can skip it to that part. I do like the Direct age at when someone can start to shoot and hold FAC/SGCs' seams a fair starting point to me-as long as it for the firing side not the teaching and drilling of the shooting sport equipment. as the for Video game side (I own a PS3) most are quite close to real life BUT people play these games and don't know the power of a real firearm I have the upper hand I stared shooting for real then played PS3 and I found the games don't show the real side of what happens when that trigger is pulled. But bottom line for me is 2 people over 20 years legally is good going(THAT IS COMPARED TO THE REST OF THE WORLD) Illegal firearms will never go away. HDAV
I did find the comments about "age" worrying and how it will impact on Cadets etc (one of the few avenues were people are exposed to safe gun handling in real life rather than on a Screen) Vaz seems obsessed with video games, others Age none of them seem to have grasped the fundamental difference between Legally held an illegally held guns. Also the number of serious injuries and fatalities are minuscule compared to many other activities . From ROSPA Query results page The number of accident victims for your chosen circumstances are shown below. Year Victims 2000 816 2001 714 2002 882 A summary of your query is shown below. Your query found the following accident victims: Object or product involved: Rifle, Shotgun Query results page The number of accident victims for your chosen circumstances are shown below. Year Victims 2000 9,260 2001 9,139 2002 9,697 A summary of your query is shown below. Your query found the following accident victims: Object or product involved: Golf Ball, Golf Club Banning Golf will have a 10 fold greater impact on public safety than banning all firearms. IT is a tragedy when Messers Ryan, Hamilton and Bird went nuts but it is also a tradegy when people are killed by drunk/drugged drivers, faulty boilers or wiring, natural events such as tornado's, tsunamis and flood/drought. All of these are preventable but at what cost to both the individual and humanity? Bans cars and booze and you will save more lives than pretty much anything else, Drink driving 12 month ban and a fine, firearms offence 5 years in prison.... http://www.metro.co.uk/news/837234-uk-drink-driving-related-deaths-at-all-time-low All time low drink driving deaths: Deaths were down five per cent, falling from 400 in 2008 to 380 last year, while serious injuries were down nine per cent to 1,480. I think the perspective has been lost...
masterzone2
Oh I agree but sadly stupid Joe public don't know any better like that Lucy Cope who seam to think that just because the law says this that and the other DOES NOT mean it will happen-Its my understanding that my local force (Suffolk) want a bloody good reason for a minor to use a shotgun example being say a farmers son/daughter. And so what if 10 year old can use my/mine or your(s) shotgun/firearm with you supervising they can't just go and get them from your safe. Very little stopping them from getting your 100k car keys and going for a joy ride. that was proven a few years back a young lad took his dads 120k V12 400+BHP Aston Martin for a spin after a few shots-didn't see a ban on them cars and drink. MESSAGE FROM MRS GILL MARSHAL ANDREWS AND LUCY COPE-LEARN THE LAW BEFORE YOU TRY AND PRESENT YOUR CASE!
