Mightymariner
A very kind farmer, on whose land I pigeon shoot, invited for a walk around with some of his friends after the odd pheasant and hare. The land is typical Lincolnshir, flat with large dykes filled with overgrown reeds and tangle. The weather was fantastic, blue skies and not a breath of wind. We walked a fair few miles, and put up over 30 pheasants, accounting for about ten, a hare and a pigeon. My farmer friend had introduced me as the pigeon shooter 'who doesn't miss anything'. You can imagine what happened when I had two cock birds fly over my position! Yes, both barrels and not a a feather ruffled - and in front of the rest of the guns. I was mightly embarrassed to say the least. None the less, a hugely enjoyable day in great company.

Mightymariner
It was a really good day, made a change from sitting in a hide on my own! Whetted my appetite for possibly joining a small syndicate next year.
Scully
Rough shoots are greatly underestimated in my opinion.Five of us have a little rough shoot, and there are rabbits, hares, pheasants, ducks, snipe, woodcock, pigeon, the occasional goose and with the right gear, roe. Good company,a few dogs and away you go..great fun.Glad the bug has bitten you!Enjoy yourself.
