mounts "jumping"

having an issue, two sets of mount on two rifles are jumping backwards, they are single screws, i understand why on one of them cos the mounts have been well used and need replacing but the other, i had just put them on , tight as possible still moving :/ anyone help or have this problem.. oh yes .. on springers ///

what gun is it?are there any arrestor holes on gun. if not u can buy a block that goes on the dove tail groove your scope is fixed to ,then u butt the mounts up to the block.this will stop the mounts moving back

i had the same problem with my bsa mercury, no matter what i tried the rear clamp would eventualy jump right off the rails and hit the floor!!

 

in the end i simply bought a riser clamp with just has a dovetail on top and mounted it behind the front clamp to stop it jumping back...

 

also i shortened the mainspring which made the gun cock easier, less recoil and alot better accuracy..

 

i guess it depends on gun type and options available to you.

 

but for me it worked a treat...

 

or if all else fails and you dont want to drill arrestor holes if there are none or mod the gun.....try iron/open sights...
