Down South
We still have a health population of reds on the I O Wight and occasionally see them in our woods on shoot days. I see more dead on the road in the spring when they are more active and looking to mate. We don't have greys here yet but there are rumours that some tree hugging tw*t has released some because they think it would be nice. hawkeye
Tenbears, I have worked in China for the last two and a half years, coming home to my place in D & G four or five times a year, I came home for a month recently (caught the last month of the shooting season), that's when I took the picture. Incidently I also managed to find myself a new job whilst I was back home looking after our operations in Cumbria & D & G, so I'm a happy bunny I'll be home soon. The main strongholds in UK for Reds are D& G, Keilder forest and some parts of Perthshire I believe. Hawkeye, I don't fish the Annan, but the get some nice runs of fish, I live on the Banks of the Nith so generally wet a line there, my mate lives near Hightae and is just about to start building a new house at Halleaths. I do a bit of shooting and occasionally beat in that area. There is a new house been built right on the cross roads to the beat at halleaths is that the one. shoot a farm up there and the caravan site for rabbit (brother has a van on site) right handy for after dark lamping go out for 20 min back for coffee then out again great fun. :(
kdubya
been lucky enough to see a couple of reds saw one in woods I shoot in northumberland, and the other which was amazing, as I would not of believed it had I not seen it was within a couple of hundred yards from my home? I saw one running accross a pathway in a public park I live near, now the place is riddled with greys (as is my garden from time to time) so it would seem they can co exist to some extent? cheers KW

HAMMY
Hawkeye, My mate bought the first house in the row just as you go in to the Caravan site for his mother (which he's just started renovating) and he bought the Scottish Water workshop and yard the last area just next to the caravan site, he shall build in there and use the big workshop for his business, he should have them both finished and be in this year.
