rugar 1022 semiauto not ejecting properly

got a proplem with my 1022 its not ejecting the spent cartridge very well sometimes it dosnt come out at all or it gets stuck in the breech. any ideas? is it possible to get a more aggresive extractor and how do I remove the the action to clean it all? cheers john

No surprise there then...

clean the action thouroughly aswell as the breech, they gum up very quickly. also check your ammo, as silpig said winnie subs tend to have a lot of wax on the heads, this stops corrosion, so if you are using winnie subs, either clean them or change ammo, HV rounds work best in rugers.

I use winnie subs to just keep the extractor clean or get an after market one as the sharp corner that gets under the rim can wear down. With a new honed one it should stop all problems did on a mates not hed it myself tho, use the factory standard bit in mine.

Log onto ruger22.com. This is an excellent site for the 10/22 owner. You can buy parts for the rifle as well. I've fitted a 'better' ejector claw, that help prevent jams etc. Using sub sonic ammo will sometimes cause it to jam though.
