Daveo26
Verney carron? They are French gunmakers, they make a nice looking semi auto i think its called a v12 and a an o/u called a saggitar(SP?) a very european looking gun and i believe they have odd stock diamensions. I read a review on them a while ago. Seemingly the O/U is not based on design ideas from another company but completley unique, not like anything else out there Im sorry if any of that turns out to be wrong its all from memory Edited November 28, 2010 by Daveo26
Colster
I have a Verney Carron 12b O/U, made in Saint Etienne. Think I paid about £195 for it, I love it to bits. Lovely bit of walnut on the stock which at some point I'll send to Sharpshooter to bring out the best in it. Nice light gun which is great for rough shooting if you're carrying it about all day. Steel100
I've had a Verney-Carron O/U for over thirty years. If I remember right, mine was the lower grade version (still has ejectors) and there was another model with better grade woodwork. As has already been said, quite lightweight and a 'shallow' action for an O/U. The action body on mine is a chromed alloy, I believe. Fiddly safety catch to the rhs of the trigger guard. Cannot be re-applied once you've discharged one barrel (VERY French!) Advantage is that it is very light. Disadvantage is ... its very light. Not intended for heavy/magnum loads. Some of these type guns were recently sold through either Holts or Bonhams. Verney Carron are still very much in business and make double rifles especially for wild boar shooting. I think they've recently added another semi-auto to the range that they already have. Rgds Andy
poorpeet
There was a review of one of these in Sporting Gun a month or two ago. Nice gun but a bit odd (Well it is French)
Paddy Galore!
some of them are very nice, a friend has one, single trigger ejector, very nice engraving etc, funny thing about the trigger is when it selects the 2nd barrel the trigger turns slightly to engage the 2nd sear.
