ollie
We went out lamping to try and get Glensman his first fox with the new gun. Saw a couple of foxes early on but they weren't playing ball. So we tried this small lane that takes you to the foot of the mountain; when we got to the top of the lane I spotted a fox on the top of the mountain so we stopped to have a call. I think at this point Glensman's exact quote was: "I wouldn't come that far for a free KFC" so I said we'll try calling him anyway. So I broke out the trusted polystyrene and started calling, all of a sudden this fox came at full gallop and within 1 minute he was within range, Glensman then dispatched him from 65 yards. He was a lovely big dog fox in perfect condition. We later ranged and he had come in from 400 yards, the shot couldn't be taken any earlier as he had to travel through a large gully before he got to us. Glensman
I wouldn't have gone that far for a KFC. The rifle's a Howa 1500 sitting in a McMillen stock. Re-worked trigger and custom muzzle-break made by Fergal White at Ireland Custom rifle. Next on the list is a target crown and full glass bed

Where did you get the stock from, ie web?? I bought the gun SH out of england mate, it came with the stock and a re-worked trigger... All I did was add the muzzle-break, I took advice from people on here and was about to order a Northstar mod- but then after looking thru a few old threads and talking to my gunsmith I decided to go with a muzzlebreak. Delighted I did! VERY little recoil meaning I can concentrate on technique more and I dont mind wearing ear defenders at all...
woodcock1
Nice big fox, I bet he'd have went a lot farther for a kfc with the current temperatures. Well done.

Glensman
well done and keen rifle by the way Yeah I like it, I wasn't getting on with the scope for a while- i'm not a fan on variables. Also I bought Warne low mounts, they aren't half low enough. I'd like it if I can just slide a £20 between scope and barrel. When I get cheek weld the scope is a little too high... I moved the phots lads, sorry! Edited November 30, 2010 by Glensman
