I have a Doctor optic scope ZF 6x42 M and mounts sitting on my Tikka M595 .223 and I am thinking of swapping it for a higher veri mag IR scope for range work or WHY. Was wondering if any one would be interested. Its in used condition with some scuffs around the eye bell (will send pics of scope and mounts if you PM me your email) but this does not affect it in any way. It is very clear and I have found it great for the munties on my shoot. As per rules. Scope £180 ono + p+p ATB Clynt Attached image(s) * Attached Image: monthly_11_2010/post-17060-0-74745000-1289752594.jpg * Attached Image: monthly_11_2010/post-17060-0-80727200-1289752623.jpg This post has been edited by lordhardup: 14 November 2010 - 04:43 PM
nathanhutchison
also does anyone have opinions on the remington 700 sps, cz 527 walnut stock or the browning a bolt?
adymorris
both my shooting buddies have one of each, I have shot both and both are fine - they hit what you aim at
nathanhutchison
surely someone has an idea of what scope i should go for? ive only ever bought hawke scopes for my air rifles and they're not great even when they're only used for air rifle ranges. so £200 to spend, what should i get? It all depends on what you want it for, How far you shoot at, and mainly your budget! Theres not alot New for that price range that will amaze you! your best off searching the classifieds for a second hand scope to suit your needs! I have a Remmy 700 SPS in .223, and currently its scopeless! i'm saving for a Schmidt or a zeiss no bigger than 3-9x50 in size, for foxing and target work! SilentKill
well i'm gonna pop a Schmidt on my HMR (when it arrives this month) probably the 8x56, no need for variable mag as its a super flat round and will be sighted in at the same zero all the time! Glensman
I've heard a lot of good things about the Burris Fullfield II, they're meant to be in and around Leupold standards, but at much lower prices....
bullet boy
For your budget I'd recommend getting a Simmons Whitetail Classic 3.5-10x50.This scope is an excellent scope and it would also be perfect once you put on your HMR as well. DaveK
Have a look at the MTC Viper or other MTC's for that matter. I have one on my .243. Bear in mind that a moderated .223 has about as much recoil as a springer airgun so any good quality air rifle scope will do the job. I've used a BSA Contender in the past to good effect and the Simmons WTC is a good choice but go for the 6-20x50 rather than the one previously mentioned. Meopta is also worth a look. As already mentioned the Burris will do a job for you. I'm currently running a Swaro PV-S on mine and the scopes on my other rifles just don't look as good as they did any more. Whatever you get look at second hand. You'll get more scope for your money
foxbuster
For your budget I'd recommend getting a Simmons Whitetail Classic 3.5-10x50.This scope is an excellent scope and it would also be perfect once you put on your HMR as well. I'll second that, brill scope for the hmr. Cant fault them at all, prefer the clarity of the Simmons to my higher mag Nikko Sterling on my .222.
