snipe
We don't get many pigeons in my part of the World, sadly. However, we do get decent numbers at certain periods, so just invested in 6 of the new UV pigeon FUDs and 6 sillosocks. I'm interested in people's opinions on both please, especially the sillosocks. To my eye they look huge! certainly bigger than a pigeon... Should 12 be sufficient to get me started, or should I also mix the pattern up with the some shells or full body ones too? Further to that, most of our pigeons rely on acorns etc. are you able to decoy these? or are they too reliant on the food that the trees supply them, and therefore tend to stick to the forest floor? Thanks, Snipe.
chrispti
I personally would stick to one decoy and get as many as you can. My preference is flocked shells and spring sticks and add dead birds to the pattern as and when you get them

yickdaz
i use 12 shell decoys and 6 fuds i always set the fuds in a block of 6 opposite end of pattern to see which end of pattern they pull to and can honestly say i don;t notice any preference at all they pull to the pattern as they would just with any old decoy. but i think the real point and i have said it before;if birds are using a field and your in the right part of the field any decoy will do the trick.but dead birds will beat plastics every time.
