lazarusthealmighty
I sent an email to a golf course asking them about any rabbit problems and if I could help. Sure enough they replied and gave me permission to shoot rabbits for them. I was really surprised because alot of people said that you rarely get permissions by sending emails. I was only wondering whether or not I need the owner to sighn some kind of form or is the email enough evidence? I also have to thank everyone on the forum that gave me advice on how to find land and get permision for shooting!! Thank you very much!!! FalconFN
Well done. You must have caught them on the right day as it's tricky getting permission without face to face meeting. Good luck with the bunnies.
The Duncan
You need to have signed permission from the owner (or person in authority) on you when you are shooting. Good news to start the new year though Edited January 10, 2011 by The Duncan
hawkeye
You need to have signed permission from the owner (or person in authority) on you when you are shooting. Good news to start the new year though Bull **** you do not need written permission it helps if you are checked but there is no where in the law books says you have to have it in writing.... I have permission to shoot over 30 + farms and 3 golf courses and i just keep a book (diary) in the motor with names/ numbers and contact details so i can ring them.. barrelsniffer
No its NOT law, but i say is good to have i also have 30+ farms and 2 large estates but if you do get pulled at silly O,clock in the morn...i know having written perm is better than a phone call wakeing the land owner up just to confirm a YES. I was pulled not so long back police had a check point down rd from farms as there was a lot of thefts from farm yards and that, when they stopped me and asked what i was doing in the area i said shooting he asked where, i told him and he got a bit aggitated till i produced my signed slips..which he was then happy about. So if i didnt have them and i had to call the 4-5 farmers just to confirm i had perm i know they would not be very happy esp when its 3 in morn. SilentKill
you can always print out the email, but its sometimes easier for peace of mind to have something signed. and your more than likely going to meet to discuss boundaries etc? The Duncan
Thanks for putting me straight guys - I must write to the airgun comics and do likewise! Still going to keep mine on me though
The Duncan
Just fired off emails to airgunner and airgun world regarding the above wrong information that they've been handing out for years. All my shooting life, thanks to them, I've been under the mis-apprehension that it was a legal requirement to have written permission on you - not even left in your vehicle, whilst shooting on land you do not own/manage.
