no just new to the area. you suggest i give them a go?

just a suggestion, my mum lives over that way, and constantly see huge numbers on the fields opposite where they have the giant boot sale, just near city limits roundabout and towards hog hill, no idea who owns it, but a bit of leg work on your part, may just see you getting permission there, rather than paying to join a club,

you could try asking in the "farmers shops" theres one on the mini roundabout end of collier row, and another to the right of fairlop station, if they dont own it, they may know who does

if you have any luck, you can invite me out for a days shooting, for the suggestion :D

No chance with Brentwood pigeon shooting club mate, I'm from Brentwood, they turn up once in a blue moon (only fair weather shooters) I hear stupid amounts of shots but don't think they are pulling the birds down!

You need to wait for a few of them to pop their clogs and then you might make their shortlist - Very closed shop with little chance of a "cold" introduction (i.e. You don't know me and i'm not your son, nephew, grandson, can i join?)

Typical Essex cliquey groups - used to do a lot of carp fishing and that was even worse. Im on a ten year waiting list as we speak. Luckily i could go and fish one of the best lakes in the UK with just a mention from a member or two :)
