Cosd
My girl turned fifteen yesterday and has been chosen for The Duke Of Edinburgh's Award. One of the things she has to do is to learn a new skill and has decided she'd like to take up clay pigeon shooting. She needs to do it for an hour a week for three months with a qualified instructor. Can anyone recommend a club and maybe an instructor? Clubs near me are A1 and another one on The Ridgeway in Enfield which I don't know the name of, are either of these any good? Any others that are not a million miles away? I don't clay shoot myself so I wouldn't know which to choose, but since she is going to do it I may as well try to get a good instructor in the hope she enjoys it and maybe takes it up permanently. I have two girls for all my sins, and would love one or both to take up the sport so we can do it together!
Catamong
Cos, that's a great idea, and having seen you shoot I'm sure that after only a couple of lessons, she'll be hitting more than you.. I would suggest the A1, there are a couple of young lads that coach there that are pretty good. All the best, Cat.

100milesaway
I gave tuition to my nephew for his Duke of Edinburghs award at my then local shoot. It was a good experiance for both him and me as he had serious eye problem issues which he had to overcome. He is now a strapping 6ft 2" fireman. It is an excellent foundation for them. from Auntie.

Hey Cat I remember our day out well, I'd been shooting a few weeks and having watched you you take a few shots I was nervous as hell and missed almost everything Thing is I didn't actually know who you were at the time in the way of the Clay shooting world, had I known I would have definitely bugged you for a little coaching on the day and asked for an autograph at the end Thanks for that Cat, I respect your opinion and will be speaking to them to get the ball rolling.
