SteveoM
Can i buy an non FAC air rifle and have it delivered?
ste12b
You can indeed from certain shops that will deliver. If from a private seller then it can be sent by normal mail/courier I believe. Make sure you insure it though, just in case it goes missing!

Dekers
Yes..but for clarification, you have to buy it face to face from a RFD and then ship it. Mailorder is no longer allowed. You can still buy privately though!
bruno22rf
Dont think thats correct Dekers-you can buy a gun over the phone without ever seeing it from any RFD as long as its then sent to your local RFD for collection. This applies to airguns as well as firearms/shotties.You are covered by the distance selling law that states that you can return the item for any reason within a certain period of time (normally 7 days)-you will have to pay return costs unless the gun is faulty or not as described. We are singing from the same hymn sheet, you are just describing another example. You still do it through an RFD. After you agree the deal with the RFD in front of you, then you can walk away with the gun or have it shipped to you (or shipped back to the original RFD if you don't like the deal), it is still a Face to Face RFD deal! ATB! PS Is this still covered by distance selling laws, I really don't know! Cheers!
bigchap
you do not have to have it delivered to an rfd.pellpax use their own couriers and will deliver to your door.
bruno22rf
Now i,m getting confused!!-simple-find a gun you like-find a dealer thats got one in stock at the best price(guntrader or gunsmart are good )-contact dealer and pay for gun and give them the fax number of your chosen(nearest normally) receiving dealer-this dealer will then contact you when the gun has arrived and charge you for the paperwork involved(about £25).If you can find someone you trust local to the gunshop that you buy the gun from-in the case of air rifles they can collect the gun and post it to you-could save you a tidy sum. You,ll have to pardon my lack of intellagence, dekers, if i,ve just said the same again-i,m a carrot cruncher. That's the plan...TRADE Air Rifle sales MUST legally be done through a RFD now, Face to Face as it is called, NOT mail Order. Anyone in the trade has to be registered as a RFD or they cannot sell Air Rifles! This does not apply to private sales. Pellets can be delivered direct. Private Sales and simply shipping a rifle to a pal to borrow, for repair, refinishing a stock, whatever, can be done without the need to pass through a RFD.
