woodcock11
We had an end of season walk around organised by the Keeper today for all the helpers, pickers up, beaters etc etc. A cracking day - cold but some sunshine and about 18 of us out - two teams of 9. The final bag was 26 duck, 22 pheasants, two woodcock and a pigeon. The two woodcock were shot by one of our pickers up as a right & left - lucky him and he had three witnesses - a hell of a nice guy and all agreed it could not have happened to a better person. The woodcock were in great shape too. An e-mail has already gone of to the Shooting Times Woodcock Club and there will be a bit of a party tonight as it is the first right & left on the shoot. ollie
Congratulations to the genntleman, it is a great feeling when you get a right and left. When I sent away for one of mine I got a certificate and an invite to the annual dinner.
Whitebridges
I bet the gent in question is made up. Very well done. Your shoot sounds top draw with a nice varied bag. Roll on next season. Edited January 29, 2011 by Whitebridges

Thank you, sir, for your kind words from one of the very first members of PW from the beautiful Glens of Antrim - great woodcock country I am told. The party went on until after 11.00 last night - I did not have the stamina for it unfortunately - final walk about tomorrow and that is it for another year
Dekers
Circumstances, situation, right place, right time, skill, luck ... call it what you will, this takes some doing. I have seen a decent number of Woodcock over the last couple of days, (whilst after the Pheasant), I would guess a bit over 20 of them, and they are ALL still flying around! Well done that man!
