webber
There was a small reduction available, it was hardly worth the effort of applying. The scheme ended a few years ago. webber
HDAV
The congestion charge exemption is good if you travel into London regularly but costs £10 a year for the exemption
fortune82
Of course theres no reduction. The government needs the money to support lazy ******** who have never and have no intention of working.

CZ550Kevlar
You get like £20 off on a years tax, also i believe the subsidy/relief on LPG fuel ran out a while ago hence LPG now running at about 75p a litre as opposed to the 55p it used to be this time last year, the government got everyone to buy dual fuel vehicles etc, got them hooked then screwed them over like Diesel drivers being told diesel was the way forward and all buy diesel cars now demand outstrips supply and the price is higher than petrol. ****

four-wheel-drive
My X reg 4 ltr jeep cherokee running on LPG cost me £190 to tax for 12 months last year. I do not have any wish to go to London but if for some strange reason you do wish to go there you do not have to pay the congestion charge or so I have been told. I run LPG vans well ones with LPG tanks and we now run them on petrol only as the LPG systems are sheite I got fed up of rebuilding engines and replacing sensors pretty much every week then one by one they all needed sets of LPG injectors at £600 a pop its not worth it with the associated engine damage the LPG is causing. These do do high mileages but what we have found is 100K miles and you need an engine rebuild on every one of ours and then they got more unreliable from there. However they run fine on petrol and get 10mpg more than the equivalent on lpg and our big bonus is they are still liable for the congestion charge discount. As they are in every day that is worth a small fortune

Having said that my Jeep has a big lazey 4ltr straight six engine that you do not have to push much as you would with say a 2ltr car/van. al4x
I think its use, it seems fine up to 100k on gas but then it effectively has knackered the engine. These are all factory converted vehicles if it wasn't for the congestion charge exemption they would be long gone. With yours eventually it will burn out the valve seats but 100K on gas will probably take you years we do it in 2 years or so

four-wheel-drive
What are you getting to the gallon on the lpg, mine is a 3.7 ltd jeep.still considering conversion ,have you had any major problems? Hi it works out about 18 mpg for petrol and the same for gas that's 36 mpg in money terms when running on gas and I have not had any problems with it. I think yours is the V6 not the strait 6 that they use in the 4ltr I have herd that the 4ltr works better with lpg but there is no reason why it should not work fine with yours. LPG is good if you do mostly long trips ie over 5 miles I find that in the cold as it starts on petrol and then changes over to gas after about half a mile so if you use it to pop to the shops or collect the kids from school its not worth the bother its ok in the summer when its hot as it switches over as soon as it has started the engine. its really good on long runs as long as you do not go to fast if you go fast it soon burns up the gas.
