spiceychilli57
Im looking at hopefully enetering into a few competitions this year but mot sure how it works with the cpsa running them and me not being a member. I get my insurance through BASC so dont really want to pay out to cpsa unless i really need to I know you can pay less for a competion round and not be enetered into the running for the winning trophy, 'birds only' is it? To shoot a round and be enetered into the competion do i need to be registered with cpsa? and the ranking system, is that run by the cpsa? can i get to 'C' class for example without registering? sorry if im asking stupid questions but like knowing what im doing before enetering into a competion Any help much appreciated. HDAV
IT depends on the ground all CPSA registered shoots are supposed to be CPSA members only (clubman-full) or you have to buy a day membership but some gorunds will let you shoot birds only. Someone with more knowledge will fill in the rest

Someone with more knowledge will fill in the rest That's about right. If non-members shot in a CPSA comp, you're supposed to pay a small "day ticket" fee of about £3. I suspect some grounds don't bother. You obviously can't be considered for the prizes and they're hardly going to enter you onto their classification system if you won't join the CPSA
Mungler
Give the ground a buzz. You can probably get a day pass or shoot birds only. Alternatively find a mate who is in the CPSA, remember his name, address and CPSA number and Bob's your uncle Indeed, when you start off there is little point entering a full blown comp - your £50 entry fee will just go towards the High Gun prize and all the bandits that win the lower classes

That's a bit rich coming from an "A" class shooter now seemingly desperate to shoot as "Unclassified". Cat.
MC
My advice would be to shoot as a birds only shooter for a while. Once you get CPSA classified you cannot get rid of it, It is a bit like herpes.
