CEREALTHRILLER
When I applied for my certificate I put down for .17hmr& .22lr. Now it's here and it says .17hmr but only .22 not .22lr - now, does this mean I could get any .22 rimfire ie wmr? Also ,on another note they have granted me an open ticket - perhaps I can get rid of the ginger *** that ate one of my chickens. ,
Devon Fox
I would go with what you applied for - they will definitely question you if you deviate. The safest thing to do is pick the phone up to your FLO. (there have been several posts aboout situations like yours in the past - have a search and see what you dig up) All the best Edited February 3, 2011 by Hot-Shot
Scully
In reality it should state .22 rimfire, and not .22 long/short or whatever. When I applied many years ago I wasn't sure if I wanted a standard long rifle or WMR so just applied for .22rf.I now have both, but are both on my ticket as .22rf,which is how it should be.If you applied for .22rf then you are perfectly within your rights to buy either a lr or WMR.They are both rimfire. The only thing that will inhibit you is how your ammo is stated on your ticket...does it state rf or lr.If it states lr then you're scuppered unless you send it back and have it changed. Hope this helps.

Also i take it you have fox listed on .17hmr & or .
Dekers
It's an ambiguous mess, you are likely to find out what it means if you go to a RFD and try to buy a WMR, or Hornet, etc!
Colster
I actually asked my local gunsmith the other day if someone came in with .22RF on his ticket would he sell him a WMR. He said no. Personally I think he's wrong but hey it's not me you have to convince.

apache
best to check with them , pull a fast one and they wont forget , is this your first application and got a open ticket . I applied for .22RF so that I could have chosen any rimfire in .22. I forget who advised me to do so, but my cert came back with .22RF. Think all the Scotts have open tickets. gixer1
We do seem to have open tickets up here and I am in the same dilemma at the moment and waiting for a variation to come back with 22 on it....
