shotgun sam
My brother in law has been offered a Lee Pro 1000 press has anyone used one of these presses to load Lee Enfield 303.
Andy H
They do not sell a shell plate for the pro 1000 in 303 ,Also the loaded round might not fit in height wise.

phaedra1106
A simple single stage press like the Lee Reloader Press will do everything you want, the Pro-1000 is a great press but only if set up correctly otherwise can be a bit of a pig Unless you're wanting to churn out 100s of rounds at a time a single stage would be fine, if you do want to automate the process then the Classic Turret Press would be an option, note that that's not the Lee Turret Press as it won't fully auto-index with larger rifle rounds, I know it doesn't with .308 and I think .303 OAL is even longer. As for saving money ......... depends how much you pay for factory ammo and how many you shoot, the benefits of hand loading is that you can (usuallY) find a load that better suits your gun and subsequently improves accuracy, handling etc. Edited February 8, 2011 by phaedra1106
Vince Green
Pro 1000 is a pistol press not at all suited to .303. But realistically, why do you want to reload .303? Its probably the least beneficial calibre to reload.

Vince Green
.303 is a pain to reload, very difficult because the tapered cases stretch. Its also very fussy. I have an article from Laurie Holland a few years back where he pitched all his favourite loads against S&B factory ammo and S&B came out tops. Its very hard to get good loads for a .303 and savings are minimal. By the time you spend all that money on reloading gear plus all the time shooting and testing reject loads I would say just buy it and be done with it. 60p a shot is not bad.You are not going to save that much by reloading even if you can get it to work. If you do go down that route buy Vhit 140 powder, best I have found. Edited February 11, 2011 by Vince Green
