What scope for lamping foxes

Look through them all in low light.

I shoot at night a Ziess 3 x 9 x36, this is very comparable with 50mm scopes from Swaro and Nightforce that I also use at night. Remember by the time you have found charlie in your 20x scope he has gone !!, most shots are sub 200 yards at night, for this 8x is enough. I always have all my scopes set at 8x at night, good field of vison is vitally important.

Having looked at them all buy a used fixed power Ziess.

I use a Swaro 8x50 for lamping foxes and it is absolutely brilliant, actually bought 2 from Macleods of Tain for a very good price and they threw in 2 free set's of Butler Creeks too.

Check his stock or give them a ring, nothing but tip top service for them.

My idea for going down the fixed mag scope was to keep it as simple as possible, I don't do long shots at night (or even stalking for that matter usually 150-180 max).

No fannying around trying to zoom in/out etc, time is of the essence when lamping round these parts, the sooner you can aquire your target the better results you will get.
