Thanks guys, its defo and ejector, i was toying with the idea of getting it reblued, now i know a good one goes for around £500, and this IS mint apart from the blueing Im going to do it!!! As far as i'm aware they all had colour case hardening originally. It starts to go first under the action where you would hold the gun in the crook of your arm. I have a No4 that has had very little use for it's age and that's the wear point on mine. It's has to be said though i am very jealous of your (erm) wood sir!
