Identification

As a new starter I wondered if anyone new of any good sites to help identify birds.

I have seen some at my rugby club that flock onto the pitches then up into the trees. They are not Woodies. I have become very dangerous at driving as I seem to be permanently looking to the skies!

Any answers appreciated.

dcradds,

They're probably Fieldfares, which are Winter visitors, they'll clear off any day now back to the Arctic circle.

The golden rule on shooting any live quarry is never pull the trigger unless you are certain of what you are shooting at.

Redwings me thinks, i've seen very large flocks of em... should be making their way back to Scandinavia soon, we get them in our garden  but they have gone now

MH ;)

If you can see a lone one through binoculars and it has a grey head it is a fieldfare, but if it looks like a thrush with a redish bar on its wing it's a Redwing...
