chesterjester
Just purchased an Acme crow call as I'd like to be able to call in crows close enough to shoot. Could anyone give me some pointers of how to do this, or recommend a suitable website that could help? All tips from the field greatfully received. Thanks very much for any support offered
steve_b_wales
The ACME caller is more suited for calling in Jackdaw's, owing to it's higher pitch. I would highly recommend you getting a Primos Power Crow call, at around £10. Once you learn how to use it, you will be amazed how good it is. PW members who have accompanied me when I use the caller, will vouch how effective it is. Steve.
chesterjester
Cheers Steve! Just starting to experiment with a few different calls, such as fox and crow. What are the different noises that I need to replicate/copy to get crows to come closer to me. Where is the best place to ge one of these Primos Power Crow calls? Loving the magazines by the way, reading one now!!
Redgum
You have to be patient, sometimes callers will turn the crow straight toward you othertimes they will turn round and go the other way. Callin over decoys will help, in matter of fact decoys work full stop especially if you get a few dead birds out, maybe one on a floater. Crows don't like to miss out and can be kamakasi over decoys but you need a good hide and most importantly keep still as they will detect movement miles away. weejase
I use a primos power crow caller and It Is very effective. I find using a call with two short blows and a longer third blow works.
