Catweazle
I'm curious, in a geeky sort of way , as to whether pigeons are affected by the solar flares, one of which hit earth on Friday morning. Apparently the flares cause magnetic disruptions. I was out early Friday AM, the pigeons weren't flying but it could have been for any of a number of reasons. PaulABF
I was out Fri late morning/early afternoon. Hundreds of pigeons out and about - everywhere except a 100m bubble around our hide and decoy pattern. Nothing unusual there then!
Dave-G
I watched one come in to roost flying upside down - it seemed to struggle grabbing hold of a branch though. It looked daft as a bat TBH.

Teal
Magnetic fields are just one of a collection of senses used by pigeons to navigate, disruptions to one of the senses are not sufficient to cause unusual behaviour. If you are interested read some papers on homing pigeons, there are plenty of studies out there
The Duncan
I saw the odd bunch wearing miniscule shades, very chic! Duncan
Beardo
Not Friday. But Thursday kept seeing flocks of various species flying in spiral circles. Mostly over large buildings. Probably riding thermals created by the structures as it was pretty warm
