madmanx
Just got back from Scotland (Galloway) where i took my first Roe deer on Monday Morning. The gun is a Steyer prohunter 30-06 with t8 silencer and the deer was shot at 174 yards(Rangefinder not guessed) at around 6.45 am.I had the luck to have a choice of 3 does to shoot which were accompanied by 1 Buck ,which reappeared around 10 mins later in the same field whilst we were grollicking the doe.Went foxing 2 nights but only saw 1 which ran as soon as the lamp hit it. sussex lad
Nice beast m8 Why did you choose the 30-06??
madmanx
I am just about to get into reloading and it seems to me that the 30-06 round is one of the most vertisile when it comes to different grains of bullets and loads of powder,i also did a lot of asking at last years game fair.I should be able to take most anything from a fox to a safari beast with this gun and load it accordingly.I am sure as always members of pigeon watch will have differing opinions but at the end of the day i am very happy with the gun,the deer i shot was my very first shot with the rifle after zeroing in the previous day.
