hunters_return
Hi all, What chance do you think i have of getting an open ticket from Essex constabulary if I ask? I have held my ticket for 2 years and have had open fac air from the start, now have open fac shotgun too but closed on .22lr and wmr. The only real reason I want it is that i have been offered shooting on a couple of pieces of land but as soon as a police check is mentioned the land owners shy off. i will probably phone and ask tomorrow but just wanted to know what you guys think of the chances. Paddy Galore!
you can only ask, one reason i gave my flo was that i'd been invited to shoot on several occaisions but my licence restricted me too much. this seemed to do the trick

Vermincinerator
I wrote a letter to my licensing office and had mine opened after 18 months of gaining my first permissions, although i had previously held a FAC for 20years. I stated in the letter that i now think that i am familiar with and have gained enough experience to identify safe shots, public rights of way, land boundaries, nearby housing and to judge for myself on whether to take a shot or not. I aslo stated that i have been invited to shoot deer in several areas which i have had to turn down because of my licence restrictions and i have actually lost permission which was verbally agreed then instantly withdrawn at the mention of police land checks. Go for it buddy you have nothing to lose. Ian.
