Billy.
The 50ft rule doesn't state that you can't shoot within 50ft of a public highway, just to let you know. If you cause distress or alarm to a member of the public whilst shooting within 50ft of the centre of a highway, you can get in trouble. abadshot
No it does not, just take care as over keen train staff may call the old bill if your seen by them.

abadshot
The 50ft rule refers to causing a nuisance, so you don't have to go as far as alarm, distress, etc
apache
The 50ft rule refers to causing a nuisance, so you don't have to go as far as alarm, distress, etc Read it! Section 161 of the Highways Act 1980 (England & Wales) makes it an offence to discharge a firearm within 50 ft of the centre of a highway having vehicular rights without lawful authority or excuse, if as a result a user of the highway is injured, interrupted or endangered. Sprackles
Its the interrupted bit that could cause a few problems, depending on someones point of view.
cockercas
You can stand next to the road and shoot so long as you don't cause an interruption eg dropping a pheasant on the road but if someone stops to see what your doing that's ther own free will to stop but if you look into what the law states as an iteruption its something to do with a vicar no been able to do his service some daft law from the 1800s
