tom_0787
Well it has taken 2 requests, the first was turned down about 6 months ago so I thought whilst my FAC was in to have a 22-250 added I would ask them to remove condition that land be cleared on my HMR and FAC shotgun. I said I was happy for the condition to remain on the 22-250 as its my first CF and I knewe there was no way they would open it up. So that 2 years before first renewal. It all came about because I realised that I could only legaly use my Section 1 shotgun on cleared land. My FEO agreed that was quite restrictive. Should open a few more doors

activeviii
Good news for the unrestricted shotgun, it always helps when you dont have to get police involved on farm land, i lost loads due to it, once condition changed it was so much easier. plus i can go to friends permissions and shoot rather that be an observer. you 22.250 is not great news how ever. Taken from BASC. England and Wales For Muntjac and Chinese Water deer only- a rifle with a minimum calibre of not less than .220 inches and muzzle energy of not less than 1000 foot pounds and a bullet weight of not less than 50 grains may be used. For all deer of any species - a minimum calibre of .240 and minimum muzzle energy of 1,700 foot pounds is the legal requirement.
