gixer1
Is this a reference to that ancient and modern stalking song "There is a green hill far away, without a city wall. " ?? Oddly enough was that not one of the hymns sung on the titanic before it sank??
Ackley
upset? You've got it wrong Pete im not upset... And I doubt there's anything you can do that I or anyone else dream about....or couldn't do if we bothered or wanted to.... Your a legend in your own mind P.s.- who's Ihad? No relation to Ahmed or Mohammed is he? seems you are getting very upset as you cant leave things alone and keep coming back with nothing but insults,Oh well never mind ehh if your happy at 100 yards thats fine there is no loss to your man hood, but all men are not the same neither are there abilities modern times my freind with modern equipment, amazing what can be acheived but i suspose if you live in the past for long enough opening ones eyes and mind is a bit of a shock,or can be progress is the key or we would still be driving model T Fords, same applies to shooting get over it and move on
njc110381
Ackley. What you seem to be missing is that the majority of us like to get in close to the animals we stalk. It's what stalking is about. If you feel the need to snipe at them at silly ranges then good for you. When you mess up your call on the wind or miscount your clicks and wound something just because you push the boundaries, then that makes you a cruel ****. Plain and simple. People don't have a go at you because they're jealous of your ability - they do it because they don't like you!

To make silly comments about not using a rifle that shoots a 2" group at 100 yards for stalking is silly and I think you know that most rifles that shoot that kind of group would be welcome on just about all professional estate as client rifles. it's you're" know it all" attitude that I don't understand, some of the "old timers" as you call them on here and the other forums know an awful lot about ballistics, ranging targets and quarry ( infact a couple of the people you have made smart *** comments at have done the ballistics, range and target thing whilst under fire in various parts of the world and then moved onto lifetime keeper/stalking jobs), all the twiddle scope turrets in the world don't make up for that type of experience. It's not about being childish and leaving it alone - you yourself have responded so does that mean you are aggrevated? We come on these forums for info, descussion and debate, I get the feeling there are a couple of people on here I wouldn't get on with in person but I certainly don't loose any sleep over an Internet forum.... Regards Gixer arogant what exactly does that mean, being passionet about something and striving to do the very best to ones abilty, isnt being arogant. I have been around a long time mate so Iam no spring chicken, also there is an old saying"you learn something everyday" this is spot on provided your able to accept other peopeles knowlage and experiences. if you say you have shot at long range you should know what its all about and what is possable or you wouldnt be making such a fuss. as to a 2 ich group at 100 yards,I wouldnt take the rifle out of the house if thats all i could achieve,so would many others, again if your happy thats fine but dont run others down who want more another thing old dog can learn new tricks,if they want to that is,so all this about people being keepers and stalkers all there life, there the worse ones as you cant tell them anything, thats fine but again dont knock a bloke who can push the distance,as whos right and whos wrong the end result is all that matters,1 shot kill dont you agree no matter what the distance as I have always said dont judge people by your own standards, hopefully we all have our limitations,I know i do,whats ever they maybe and provided your confident there isnt and shouldnt be a problem quite right forums are for debate and decussuion but certain people take things the wrong way and get too upset over nothing, just beacuse they judge by there own standards
Dekers
Come on guys, it is commonly me in the middle of this sort of stuff, but this is dumb! There are only a handful of people that would ever consider 500 yard field work, yet many, including me, commonly shoot at 600yards (or more) on the range (with my field tools) and would take up knitting if I didn't see a few V Bulls! Enough already!
