williamson9846
I suspect all the answers have been covered before but could we make a list of the "pay and play" grounds around the country? I will start with the two I have visited: Bisley - Long Siberia - Broomhillshttp://www.broomhills.org/ - 28p per clay all set in trees some testing birds 8 stands + fur and feathers Treetops sporting Newport http://www.treetops-sporting.co.uk/- 14+ stands in woodland 25p per clay none members + refreshments available open Monday to sat Ian Coleywww.iancoley.co.uk outside Cheltenham, has sporting, trap & compak & 20 stands, including 120ft birds from a high tower, is 30p a clay, plus a full gunshop onsite too. Open Monday - Saturday and club night on a Thursday. A1http://a1sg.co.uk/ near Borehamwood. 30p per clay for ESP, £6.50 for OT. Also has helice and a new skeet layout. Plenty of refreshments and some very good espresso! Half decent ground. Cupid Green in Hemel Hempstead. £6 for a round of skeet or ABT. Quiet with small clubhouse with free teas and coffees. They also do all the trapping for you. Codicote Bottom - Codicote. Small ESP layout, also some compak. Can't remember costs but cheaper than A1. Birds not all that great on the ESP layout. Compak bit is entertaining and trapped/scored for you. Has some refreshments but not tried. East Barnet, near A1. Is sort of pay and play. Emphasis perhaps on the play..! £12 non-members for as much as your shoulder or wallet can take. Manual and auto traps. No refreshments. any comments on the quality/size etc of the place would be great and I will edit it to one manageable list Thanks Rob W Woking Surrey Edited April 3, 2011 by williamson9846

Thunderbird
I visit Ian Coley's once a month or so for practice and it is a pretty ground set in woodlands (it's on the Chatcombe Estate) and very friendly, with an excellent gun shop on site. They also now do hot food on a Saturday. Some good deals on cartridges too. Claymate card system so solo practice is easy.
