Greenhunter
Haven't read most of this thread but I feel I have to add my bit... Many years ago, when I was comparatively young, I saw the result of a Scottish red deer stag shot with a shotgun using #5 It was dead as a doornail. A clean kill from about twenty yards. It ran twenty yards before dropping, apparently. The perpetrator had 'waxed' a couple of cartridges.(an old gamekeepers trick as I was told) Poured melted candle wax into the shot and re-crimped the cartridge for those that didn't know. Believe me..it works :o Don't try this at home folks...it has to be illegal!! GH

I also meant to ask if it is AAA's for muntjact up to red deer? With no specific cartridge weight determined? GH doing that forms a slug which 'explodes' on impact it was used for a long time shooting wild boar in certain parts of the world it does work very well but i would guess illegal and not exactly a good idea tampering with a factory made cartridge
