Adjustable stock

Recommended Posts

I have been trying to get a second hand adj stock for my 682gold e, to no avail.

I have contacted GMK and they want £650.00 for a new stock so that a no then.

So my next option is to have my gun converted. Will doing this devalue my gun, and does anyone have anyone to recommend to complete the work in the Essex area.

Many thanks

Geoff

Geoff,

I have my Beretta 682 Gold E convereted to be made adjustable by Simon Willmore the gunsmith at Doveridge and couldn't be happier with the results. From memory it cost me about £180 including the shipping back, so give Simon a call on (07816) 918301 and i'm sure that he'll be more than happy to assist you.

It will increase the value of your gun, as it will be far more saleable.

Ditto that, it won`t harm resale one bit. I had a Zoli done a few weeks ago and Tim Greenwood of Sporting Gun fame told me he only uses Roy Wedlake (01443 203498) for adjustable comb work and I can only endorse his work is excellent :) .

One thing I would ask though is make sure you know what it is you want out of it. People mistakenly believe they can go on raising and lowering POI thereafter; this is not the case I`m afraid. I have a good many years experience with these on different guns incl the ugly PFS and as long as you know what you`re doing they can be useful but they are not an instant alternative to gun fitting proper.

I have my original trap stock equipped with comb adj and Isis reducer off my 682e, ( I shoot it with a PFS now) it`s not for sale but would be happy to lend it to you for a few weeks if it helps.
