Ferretboy111
Hello all, Am just about to purchase my pheasant bedding for my rearing sheds. What stuff do you use and find best? ie: Paper, shavings, woodchip, cardboard, chopped straw etc. Many thanks A
Bleeh
That Eco Bedding stuff. holds water alright, it's easy to clean, and it compacts well so you can keep filling the pen up though out the holding period, and then clean the whole thing in one go at the end of the season. It also makes good compost after all your hard work!

Devon Fox
We normally put fillets of straw down to level up the flooring, and the bags of shredded card on top, We bought 20/30 pallets over the Winter as We also struggled to get a decent supply last summer. We only use wood shavings as the birds get older, its good for soaking up when a drinker has gone over during the night First intake on Weds Morning, 3-5000 arriving, here goes boys ............ Gamefarm
Back on the subject of bedding - have used ecobed for the last few seasons and done well on it. Just ordered a couple of pallets to start this year off, and stock is good apparently. Collecting this afternoon from the depot. No shortages round here atall. No shortage of early chicks either - people almost giving them away because no one is wanting early poults. I suspect we will be facing a mad rush for later stuff, and it won't then be available. Amazing how far the effects of a hike in wheat price can spread!
