great result. As much as I don't like seeing the young of any animal killed, greys need reducing drastically.

I watched an amazing bit of footage on Chris Packhams new TV show last night showing a number of squirrels predating Bumble bee nests and they, along with corvids may be a major reason why Bees are struggling.

As much as I can't thank people enough for their hard work at Grey Squirrel control, I'd just like to give a word of warning about shooting Dreys.

Me and a mate where shooting sqizzers, and we saw one than ran behind a tree and into a Drey. Once we had found our way round the tree to where the Drey was, we had a choice of two. Great we though, as my mate raised the gun to blind shoot the one on the right, Blasted, and at that moment a bloody great Tawny Owl lifted out the Drey (It was a Drey, not a nest) to the left...

We both looked at each other, and from that day we've always poked dreys with some drain poles (It also provides some rather excellent sport).

I'm not trying to preach, but I'm just saying be careful.

Nice result.

Was out the other day with a few mats ont he estate shooting dreys and all we did when we come across one was one of us would take turn in shooting the drey and the other three woth lighter loads would pick off any runners. Worked very well and we ended up shooting 4 young ones. Wonder how many got stuck in the dreys.
