And a video of how to subtley remove a road kill deer head next to a road ;)

I guess it would be ironic if it's a gold medal...

"Also, I think knives are a good idea. Big ****-off shiny ones. Ones that look like they could skin a crocodile"

A few quick hacks, job done and a speedy getaway.

No, not nicked.

I had another slow drive past it on the way home last night, and it's a lot closer to the road than I thought it was; the head is pretty much lying on the road. I'd also have to stop the other side of the road and cross (holding a big shiny knife/bow-saw/chainsaw/katana) to get to the deer, so it looks like a non-starter at this point in time, especially given that my wife has banned me from having it in the house, or using "her" pots and pans for the boiling. Leaving it in the garage, hanging from its antlers, whilst I am away is not likely to make her a happy camper either.

I think I might wait until I get back. If it's still there, so be it. I might even have a bonus bit of crow action on it to take some of the trickier bits of flesh off.

the other options are to get it and bury it in the garden antlers out of the ground and leave to rot, (making sure the dog can't get to it. Or a sealed container with some air holes and a load of maggots will also work. But doesn't help getting the head off

Well wouldn't you know it... The one time the council choose to be efficient is the one time I was hoping they would not be. It's gone, and with it my plans for a nice present for my mother. Ah well, back to plan B: Shoot my own and do it the proper way.

Don't use bleach to whiten it, it softens the bones, use Hydro peroxide, you can can 12% bottles from Superdrug for just over a pound.

As for taking the head, just do it, the more you worry about it the bigger the issue in your head.

I used to pick up alsorts when I was a kid and skin them. Only once did someone stop but they thought I was having trouble with the car. They soon moved off when I showed them the dead stoat.

I have seen mounted skulls on sale for as low as a tenner. Last time was at Bisley, there was a show of some sort going on there.
