Harnser Posted May 16, 2011 Report Share Posted May 16, 2011 (edited) I use 45 grains vit 140 with a 150 grain soft point for all my deer shooting . Over the years I have found that vit 140 is proberbly the best powder around for the .308 . The 45 grains that I load is marginly down from the 47 grains reccomended in the book .The reason I down load a tiny bit is because it is much easier to weigh 45 grains on my beam scales than it is to weigh 47 grains .
