caeser
After a dry spell from fishing, it feels like I haven't been for months, I'm off with my pal Phil for a three day session. Either Anglesey or the Lleyn or both probably. Were going to rough it, sleeping in little tents, where ever we feel like. No home comforts, no alchohol. Probably barbecue a couple of fish, ( if we catch any). I can't wait. We have done this ,once a year for the last few years, me and Phil, and its brilliant. Just escapism from the day to day work life, can't beat it. I'm only taking my 3-5oz rod which usually does me for everything that we're gonna do. I.E. bass in the surf, spinning, mackerel bashing etc.

hushpower
I love getting away from it all fishing on the Llyn penninsular an pwhellie, spinning mainly ,but on beaches nothing more relaxing than the bait rods out sat in a chair the sun going down an catching. Have caught some stonking 3lb mackeral at dusk at porth ..... as well as other speices .Next trip in a month or so. Some times you see the lads from valley practising dogfights off the coast, has well has pods of dolphins/porpoise hunting mackeral shoals, gannets fishing, seals, puffins. But my favorite a few pairs of choughs along the headland where i mainly fish,a truly stunning area, where the scouses outnunber the sheep and the sheep are nervous, and so they should be

caeser
Just got back today friday. First day went like this:- Started fishing about 7pm. Blowing a hooley in our faces. Peeler crab as bait. Surf was humping. first cast 2.5lb bass. Weed ended up as problem. stopped a few times for a cuppa, weed was ok at times. Caught bass all through the night. Next morning we had caught a total of 20 bass. Biggest 5lb next 4lb, loads around 2lb plus. smallest was still well in size. Also, one dogfish and one pollack. Slept till midday. Started lure fishing for couple of hours, not a touch. Didn't bother going after the mackerel. Wind had dropped dramatically. Surf dropped a lot. Started fishing again about 7pm. Peelers again as bait. This time nowhere near as good as previous night. Loads of small bass robbing the bait. I ended up with 5 small bass, I mean about 9-11 inches long. My pal had two like that also. Around about 2am we both caught a decent bass a piece, over 2lb. things getting better we thought. Then the heavens opened up. really heavy rain. we ran off and dived into the tents. Never came out the tents again until 8am. Then decided to head for home. So total tally was 29 bass, one doggie and one pollack. Highlight of the session was:- at 4.15am, on the beach about 150 metres from the cliffs ,we were fishing and noticed something coming towards us on the beach. Bounding along the waters edge right towards us. Didn't take long to realise it was an otter. I've never seen one in the wild before. It got to about 30 metres from us, then turned up the beach. It must have got wind of us then, it stopped, looked at us, then it turned back towards the sea, and ran at full speed, and launched itself into the surf, like a baywatch lifeguard. It was a fantastic sight. It all made for a great couple of days. Back home now, getting stuff ready to go the pub with the missus and bore all our friends to death with my stories.
