Out early this morning on a goat cull.

Their was three of us.

Arrived on the farm in question before dawn, the other 2 fellas were more sucsessfull then me :D:lol: , i saw nothing, but managed a couple of pics. :D

The first is the sun rise, over what was very frosty conditons this morning, unusual weather we are having over here at present :/ .

The second pic is where i slowly crept up to a few hares boxing, i got within 50yds of them, as you might just make out in the middle of the path i was on.

my battery then ran out :D , frost, my other 2 mates shot 3 goats between them with their .22-250s, did a fine job on them. :)

A good morning in all. :D

Nice pics frank

Couldn't you take out the hares?

SS

Hares are protected over here from end of febuary to september, i had the .223 with me anyhow.

I was amazed how close i got to them, they go a little stir crazy this time of the year and are a bit more courageous then usual, so thats probably why.

Wild feral Goats are classed as vermin over here in Ireland and from time to time are culled on land or forestry where they are causing damage.

The young ones taste lovely, a bit like lamp, but the older smelly ones, like you said, are not worth eating, so a couple of fellas i know, cut them up and feed them to their packs of dogs.

Their is no caliber limit as yet, so i get to use my .223 :o

I find Sako 55 grain soft point does the trick. :yp:
