turbo33 Posted June 18, 2011 Report Share Posted June 18, 2011 Had a call from the farm manager at 8am this morning to say the pigeons were hammering his barley. :o Quick breakast and then loaded up the truck and Ben and I were away, Much to the dissapointment of the spaniel. Don't you just feel terrible when they see your going to go without them Spent an hour reccying the flightlines and the best looking spot. Set up with the wirly, hyperflaps and a dozen decoys. Mix of full bodied and shells. The wind fortunately was behind us, but was really strong, and coupled with really squally conditions made for some testing shooting We had to pick our shots as we were on the boudary so birds taken overhead would have been lost behind and ones infront we tried to drop into the laid area to stand a chance of finding them. Eventually called it a day at 5pm when the mother of all rain and sleet storms hit us. Final bag was 41 with 37 picked and 4 lost in the barley.
